Infection control has always been our top priority at Healy & Molinaro Family Practice Dentistry. Our office follows infection control protocols recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. When it is time for your next appointment you will notice some changes to help protect our patients and staff.

Some changes you will notice are:

  • Our office staff will communicate with you beforehand to remind you to access our website's Patient Resource page for Covid-19 Patient Screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the office.

  • We will ask you to call us when you arrive at our office and wait in your vehicle. Please come alone, unless accompanying a young child or other person requiring care.

  • Please wear a mask. If you do not have one, we will provide you with one.

  • A staff member will call you when your treatment room is ready and the front office is clear.

  • You will be asked to walk to the front door where you will be met by a staff member. Your temperature, pulse and O2 level will be checked and you will be asked screening questions again.

  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.

  • You may notice that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.

  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

  • We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.

Meet DuraMaX. The new adjunct to our Infection Control Regimen!

One new addition to our infection control measures is the DuraMax Extraoral Suction System. This aerosol control system removes contaminants produced during dental procedures including droplets, aerosols, blood, dust, and virus and uses the most advanced Quattro layer filtration system to kill virus and bacteria absorbed with over 99.9% efficiency. During dental treatments, a high volume of droplets and aerosols are produced by high-speed hand-pieces, ultrasonic scalers, and air water syringes that can linger in the air for up to two hours. DuraMax Extraoral Suction System will effectively remove these droplets and aerosols from the immediate treatment site thereby reducing the potential danger from dental aerosols and keep the air in your office safe and clean.
